Heather Lord founded Lord Tutoring because she saw a need for quality educators who specialize in teaching students with learning differences like ADHD, dyslexia, and autism spectrum disorder.
Her philosophy is simple: use individual curiosities to drive curriculum. Students improve their academic habits by starting with material that genuinely interests them. School can be frustrating for students with learning disabilities when they don't understand "the why" behind the material. Why is The Unit Circle called the Unit Circle? Why do I need to learn about the American Revolution? This holistic approach to tutoring not only improves students' critical thinking, reading comprehension, and data fluency, but also their ability to succeed in academia more broadly.
